AMBIENT SESSIONS 40 - PARANOID

 

We have a new session, mixed and recorded live by Paranoid.

Paranoid has been a journalist specializing in electronic music for more than a decade, writing for Cyclic Defrost (Australia) and Buenos Aliens (Latin America), and sporadically for a few others.

He directed the Egg Music Box project with which he had a weekly radio show on BArcelonaCityFM. He also had the Rejected Ambient Works show on RadioREA. His musical selections range from IDM, Experimental, Ambient, Downtempo to shades of other genres. He has had radio shows in Ibiza, México and Argentina, among others.

Paranoid also produces and edits his own tracks, it has been published by the Kahvi Collective label from Finland, Tingo Tongo Tapes from California and Guerrilla Tunes from Argentina in an edit to Lackluster. He has performanced in Tallinn, Tartu, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Riga, Mexico City and Reykjavik.

He is currently back in Barcelona, Spain, after having spent five years in Estonia.

About his set selection he tells us:

"This mix was improvised in Barcelona a couple of months ago. It has a few personal favorites, such as Plaid, Rafael Anton Irisarri, Biosphere, or Odd Nosdam. It's oldest piece is from 1998, and it's most recent was released a few months ago. There are tracks from people I've got great memories with, and also people that vanished. There's unreleased music too. Oh, and there are winks to random things: movie directors and alternative rock stars from the '90s, a certain type of bird, and yellow roses."

Tenemos una nueva sesión, mezclada y grabada en vivo por Paranoid.

Paranoid es periodista especializado en música electrónica desde hace más de una década, escribe para los medios Cyclic Defrost (Australia) y Buenos Aliens (Latinoamérica), y esporádicamente en algunos otros.

Dirigió el proyecto Egg Music Box con el que tuvo un show de radio semanal en BArcelonaCityFM. También tuvo el programa Rejected Ambient Works en RadioREA. "Este mix fue improvisado en Barcelona hace un par de meses. Tiene algunos favoritos personales, como Plaid, Rafael Anton Irisarri, Biosphere u Odd Nosdam. El track más antiguo es de 1998, y el más reciente fue lanzado hace unos meses.

Hay temas de gente con la que tengo buenos recuerdos, y también de gente que desapareció. También hay música inédita. Ah, y hay guiños a cosas aleatorias: directores de cine y estrellas del rock alternativo de los '90, un cierto tipo de pájaro, y rosas amarillas".
